Birth Control Recall

Last month Pfizer recalled nearly one million packages of faulty birth control pills Lo/Ovral®-28 as well as its generic version, Norgestrel and Ethinyl Estradiol, due to inexact tablet counts or out of sequence tablets.  The affected packets have expiration dates ranging between July 31, 2013, and March 31, 2014, and the lot numbers of the recalled pills can be located on the FDA’s website.

Now less than one month after the Pfizer recall, Glenmark Generics has recalled seven lots of Norgestimate and Ethinyl Estradiol tablets distributed to pharmacies between September 21 and December 30, 2011, because of a packaging error that landed the pills in the wrong order.  The lot numbers of the recalled pills can be found on Glenmark’s website.

Birth control pills are taken each day in the order they appear in the package.  However, because the recalled birth control pills appeared out of order or contain an inadequate number of pills, women who took the recalled birth control pills were left without adequate contraception and at risk for an unintended pregnancy.

If you took any of the recalled birth control pills and became pregnant with an unintended pregnancy, please contact us to discuss your legal rights.

I agree with Mark completely.  My daughter was on two cycles of the pills at age 21.  She has experienced irritability and weight gain, not to mention the trauma of a possible unwanted pregnancy which luckily did not happen.
We also want to bring a lawsuit against Glenmark. Previous to this company having a packaging error, she was on a generic through Qualitest called tri-previfem with a similar packaging error.  We are outraged.

I was taking this medicine for a month and a half.  I was really sick for the whole time.  I went to the doctor every week with different symptoms like nausea every day, vomiting without a reason, hypertension, pain in my left chest and arm, bloodshot eyes, vertigo, stress, rage, and migraine headaches.  Each of these symptoms everyday for a month and a half. Including missing a lot of work, and for this reason I believe that I lost my job.
What should I do? Can you please respond to my email address at  cathybellota@yahoo.com
    Thank You!
