Best Western offers a guarantee on its website for the lowest rate for a room when reservations are made through its website. The guarantee states that if a customer finds a room at a better price than Best Western’s on another website, Best Western will lower its price and give the consumer a $100 gift card. However, Best Western does not always live up to it’s lowest rate guarantee.
One traveler booked a room at a Best Western in Las Vegas for $62, only to discover later that the identical room at the identical hotel was only $39 a night. After filling out and submitting a claim form by email to Best Western, the claim was rejected by Best Western because “they said that they could not get the competitor’s website to work.” To prove his point, the traveler sent links to Best Western for five more competitors’ websites, all who offered the same room at between $39 and $49 per night, including taxes. After several rejections of his claim, and multiple excuses as to the reasons for the rejections, the traveler finally received his $100 gift certificate from Best Western.
